Westland Scout

Published with the co-operation of Trackpad Publishing, this is the first of a series of photo-walkaround style books of military helicopters.

The Scout formed the mainstay of the Army Air Corps throughout the 1960s and into the 1990s. The type entered service as a replacement for the Saunders-Roe Skeeter. The Scout was primarily used as a multi-role tactical aircraft with duties such as observation, liaison, training and search and rescue. It is worth remembering that the Scout was one of the few entirely British-built and designed helicopters to have served in the British Army.
